Strategic Projects, Private Healthcare Information Network
Greg leads on the strategic development of the Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN). PHIN is the independent, government-mandated organisation that publishes performance and fees information about private consultants and hospitals in the United Kingdom. In his role he’s responsible for engaging with and getting feedback from the website’s 400,000+ annual visitors to understand their needs and help to improve their experience of navigating private healthcare. He also leads the private sector’s efforts to collect and use Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) – evidence of the effectiveness of clinical procedures, both surgical and cosmetic. And in the third main part of his role, he works with all major UK Private Medical Insurers to help them use evidence of the quality of private hospitals and consultants so that insured patients can get the high-quality and safe treatments they need. Greg’s a firm believer in the value of user feedback and has employed this approach in other roles. As Head of Healthcare Outcomes at Bupa, he collected and used patient feedback data to improve care in diverse contexts – for dementia patients in care homes to those having health assessments in primary care, and more generally including for patients having surgery in cancer, musculoskeletal and cardiac specialties. In a previous career, Greg also drew on input from very diverse operational and functional teams to create collaboration across many international airline partnerships, and deliver both passenger and commercial benefits.
