Tech in Care Wins UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Healthy Ageing Funding Challenge

Tech in Care Wins UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Healthy Ageing Funding Challenge

Tech in Care is focused on delivering digital solutions for Health and Adult Social Care. Formed in March 2021, with the aim of driving forward a Discharge to Assess (D2A) digital platform.

Launched as part of the Local Government Association (LGA) Social Care Digital Innovation Accelerator (SCDIA) project and co-designed with 5 Local Authorities, D2A offers a 30% reduction on administration time, mobile working, improved system-wide resource planning, and reporting benefits.

With anywhere between 10-150 active discharges being managed by councils daily, D2A enables all professionals involved to see the status of patients in real-time and plan accordingly with shared data in one place.

We are delighted to announce that we are a part of the UKRI Healthy Ageing Challenge funding award.

This is incredibly exciting for Tech in Care as the funding has allowed us to move at pace with two key developments of our new brand:

Pathways to care

The first is an extension into Intermediate Care (IC) and the second addresses our customers interoperability needs. We understand from our customers that managing IC is as challenging as managing D2A. The messages were:

  • Many Stakeholders cannot access the same IT systems
  • Many are using spreadsheets, emails, and phone calls (or paper written note) to communicate between IC stakeholders

A system providing a “single version of the truth” is crucial to understand and optimise a person's outcomes through their IC journey.

Taking a modular approach, customers can use our interoperable D2A and/or IC solutions to ensure the effective sharing of information simply, safely, and securely for the benefit of those we support.
