With almost 20 years’ experience employing user-centred design methodologies to guide teams to achieve outcomes that meet user needs and organisation goals, Michael relishes the unique challenges and opportunities of design in the public sector and is driven by the purpose inherent in designing sustainable solutions for citizens at population scale. As Lead Designer for primary patient-facing digital channel NHS.UK, Michael is responsible for creating the conditions for best-practice interaction and service design, fostering an inclusive user-centred design culture and helping teams to identify the right problems to solve before solving them in the right way.
