Sarah Dew

South Yorkshire Innovation Hub Director, Health Innovation Yorkshire and Humber
Sarah leads the South Yorkshire Innovation Hub. The Hub works with people from across the South Yorkshire system to develop innovative ideas in response to the many health and wellbeing challenges and opportunities in our region, and to adopt great practice and innovations from elsewhere. Sarah has a background that spans health, wellbeing and innovation, and the public, not for profit and private sector. At the Health Foundation, she set up the campaigning coalition Health Equals to raise awareness of and campaign for change in health inequalities and the wider determinants of health. Before this, Sarah was Head of Policy Design at Camden Council where she set up a new cross council team to design new services and support teams to co-design service improvements with residents. She also led the council’s recovery missions from the COVID-19 pandemic. Sarah has worked as an Innovation Consultant for the not for profit Innovation Unit, collaborating with different parts of the health system to co-design and support innovation – including running an innovation programme to design community solutions to end of life care, working with the NHS Innovation Accelerator, and co-authoring research with the Health Foundation into how to scale and spread innovation in the NHS. She also led the international market development of an online healthcare start up.
